Models

I love shooting models because every model I’ve ever photographed enjoyed being in front of my camera. Being a model photographer takes training, knowledge and an ability to relate to people—male or female. Knowing how to pose and light a person is extremely important. I call it the “ability to see light”. I rarely use just natural light, almost every image you see here (with the exception of my studio photos) was done by one or more of my assistants holding reflectors for me. (Let’s say I helped out the natural light.) If, for some reason, I can’t use a reflector I’ll use a modified off camera flash. However, I choose a location to place and pose you that gives me the opportunity to adjust the light and shadows in a way that accentuates your best attributes. Along with that and choosing the right lens I can create an image you and I are satisfied with. Some models I photograph have never been in front of a professional with a camera before—so as a photographer you need to be able to pose them effectively. Posing does not necessarily come natural to most people.

Where you go with your modeling is up to you, but I can get you started or we can create some fresh images to update your portfolio. You may simply want to model for photographers who want images for social media or their website rather than pursuing a career in modeling. Regardless of that, and based on my experience, I know you’ll have fun and together we’ll create some amazing photographs.
